Are we there yet? |
My finished baby rhino - I used acrylic paints, oil pastels, charcoal and Pan Pastels. Maybe you're not supposed to use the oil pastels with acrylic paint - I never learned all the rules. I have named the painting "are we there yet?" The top photo is truer to the color than the close-up which looks a little washed out. The angel below was a paint over (like a do over) and her face and body seemed to just appear - so here she is. Acrylic paint, Pan Pastels and charcoal. Don't have a name for her yet. Can you think of one?
Love doing a series - gives me all kind of ideas for other paintings. I am so glad you stopped by. I will be linking with
Paint Party Friday and hope you will visit this website to see all the wonderful art. Thanks to Eva and Kristin who faithfully host this site every week. Have a blessed and creative weekend!
Hi Gina. Hope all is good with you. Your finished Rhino is just outstanding with all its magnificent colors, be it acrylic mixed with oil pastels, Rhino is beautiful. I love his eyes. Are we there yet is a great title because he seems a little tired getting to where is he going. Your lady angel is great as well. I would say she is Angel of The Garden. Lots of movement. Have a great weekend, outstanding work.

ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your baby rhino! His face is precarious and the multiple strokes of color you used to paint him added so much character. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little baby Rhino, love his colourful skin.
ReplyDeleteYour angel looks very modern with her gorgeous pink hair and I like the band of turquoise at the bottom too, she looks like she is floating on it. It's a lovely painting.
I absolutley love your baby rhino! Those colours are fantastic-wonderfully expressive. And who cares if you should use oil pastels with acrylic-that's the joy of being an artist and trying everything that comes to mind-and it worked beautifully.
ReplyDeleteAwesome rhino! I love the colors and the name. I am sure baby animals bug their parents just like our kids do when on a long trip. The angel is beautiful. It reminds me to stop a moment, smell the flowers and listen! Hugs, Rasz
ReplyDeleteYour rhino painting turned out beautifully! So adorable!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore your colourful rhino! I think a lot of people use oilpastels with acrylics. When you're playing there are no rules .. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the warm and cold colors you've used. I am especially taken by the baby rino. What a darling little fellow he is!
