Olympics inspired - exercising my "sketching" muscles

Submitting this to Paint Party Friday - http://paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com/
I have been sketching a bit at night - while keeping on eye on the Olympics.  Last night I sketched our leather armchair and colored it with Copic markers. I find it funny that I got those markers and hardly used them for a couple of years - now I love the ease of coloring and shading they allow.  My grandson was actually lying across it at the time I was sketching -but I could visualize most of the chair anyway.  It's a very comfy chair, by the way, and my husband's favorite, especially since it reclines!  That's ok though - he found another comfy place to sit last night.  Thanks for stopping by - I love your comments, so leave one if you can.

    1. Thanks - somehow I am better at that with Copic markers than any other medium.

    1. Thank you Gloria - I love those chairs as well. All our seating is leather - too many destructive possibilities living here - lol!

    1. I only wish I could do as well with paint! But I am thinking do the Copics first and then recreate with paint - we'll see if that helps. Thanks for the lovely comment

    1. I like the Olympics - I am just not a TV watcher - so it keeps me from getting up and moving around if I sketch and then I listen to the games and look up when there is a lot of noise!! LOL Thanks for your comment

    1. I had those Copics for so long - had to buy them and then didn't use them. But I really do love them now. They blend so well. You really don't need a lot of shades of the same color - similar and different colors seem to mix very well. Have fun with them.

  11. Yes, those sketching muscles will seize up if you don't exercise them. Great job on the chair, now you have got me thinking I should sketch the chairs in my house.
