Trying my best to keep up. So - grabbed the arts & leisure section of the Sunday Times - and fairly quickly drew these 2. Far from completely satisfied with face shapes and angles - but I stopped myself from attempting to be perfect (a frustrating venture). This is a great exercise - especially since I am drawing both men and women and using photos as well as imaginary faces. This will be a difficult week to post - so I may have to post several days at the end of the week. But I will keep on keeping on. If you go

I think both are very good, but I like the bottom one best.
ReplyDeleteI struggle with angles a lot. I think you did well with it! You chose difficult faces, too: lots of wrinkles and stubble!

ReplyDeleteDrawing from photographs is hard--especially if your goal is realism. It seems worth it though, unless you have someone around who is fairly still to draw.
