What to do when good art goes verrry bad!

Last week I posted a picture of a WIP which was to be a baby present.  Something in that painting wasn't working for me - so instead of analyzing what it was - I ruined it.  The only thing left to do was gesso over the canvas and rethink the project.  I was wandering around Pinterest when it suddenly came to me - the background was just wrong.  So I chose another canvas (decided to go a little bigger) and went to work.  I'm not quite finished but I am pleased with it.   I think it will be a good painting for a baby girl's room.  I also worked on a couple of new little ladies and a journal page lady - which I can't find right now.  In the midst of that I had time to develop a horrible MRSA infection on my face. I was scary looking - my lips and one side of my face was swollen.  I am on antibiotics and I almost look normal - but it was rough.  And my husband started making jokes (to make me feel better and I did laugh) like saying "don't give me no lip".  Gotta laugh in the midst of craziness.  Anyway, without further ado, my new giraffe

Needs to have some finishing touches and the shading nees t be blended more - but I am much happier with this more whimsical piece.

I am linking with Paint Party Friday (here) hosted by Eva and Kristen who give us a wonderful venue to share art with you and each other.  Go take a look and enjoy.  Maybe next time you can submit your work.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed and art-filled weekend.

  3. Oh my, I so know that feeling! I am a part time ruiner of paintings too. But this giraffe is lovely! I think it will go perfectly in a girl's bedroom. The use of maps on the body is great,
