Sailing in a Red Bo |
I Believe I Can Fly |
The painting on the right is my ever - 20x24". I am really pleased with it - I enjoy texture and I am in love with using red suddenly. Maybe it's the China Red Matisse background paint that helped that happen. It is used under the sky and of course, the red sailing boat. On the right is a sassy bird. I used Matisse paints (orange, pur;le and red background paints) and used my spellbinder nested circle (smallest one) to cut circles of maps and cut them in quarters to make feathers. Used Viva Inka Gold rub in green and purple and even some Twinks gold on the wings. Definitely mixed media. I am linking to Paint Party Friday hosted faithfully by Eva and Kristin. Go and see and the wonderful art works there.
Thanks for visiting and have a blessed and art filled weekend.
Love the red in both pieces. I can feel the mist on my face as I ride along in your little red boat. Very nice.:)

I love the tranquility of the sea in the Red Boat painting. As for that sassy parrot I feel like I want to get to know him. Super cute. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your boat on the water. The pop of red is wonderful. I wish I was in your little boat floating along. Painting keeps me sane too.
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are lovely, and I especially enjoy the boat painting. The texture and colors of the water and sky are great!
ReplyDeleteYour paintings are beautiful and you've used that red differently but perfectly in each one!
ReplyDeleteI like your striking bird, but my favorite is the sail boat painting. There's a peacefulness and strength to it as the little red sailing boat moves across the wide open sea. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly succeeded in your bigger version! Love how the colours came out. And your sassy bird is so cute :-)
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed with this paining. I love the way you treated the moon and the reflection from it. Wonderful. Thank you for your well wishes.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a happy weekend

Love the really bright colors in the one on the right. And the boat painting is great. I get the feeling of being on a lake.
ReplyDeleteThe bright colors on the bird are so perfect, as are the subtle ones on the water. Love the red boat. Great work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sailboat painting and charming bird painting! They are both wonderful. The sailboat painting has a combination of soothing energy and joy.
ReplyDeleteThe sailboat painting is wonderfully serene. Headed to a magical land of some kind, but taking its time. :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful pieces - I really like the boat.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of these two pieces. One very tranquil and the other so vibrant and fun. Lovely work. Thanks for dropping by.

ReplyDeleteYour painting of the sea and sky is so atmospheric, so peaceful now but I think a storm might be building up. I love your little boat.
ReplyDeleteI like the bird very much too, watching from the sidelines.
Love your serene seascape, and also your bird painting. Both would make great cards.
ReplyDelete"In the land of craziness, panting is my sane space" is so true. Nice painting and post!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. The depth of color in both the sky and sea is evident from here! Beautiful work, xoxo
