Keeping on keeping on!

Sometimes I think there are no paintings or drawings left.  I seem to have no real ideas.  So - I look around. At things around me, at photos and at Pinterest.  I found a photo that inspired me (below) and adapted it.  These little birdies started out as magazine cutouts.  However, you can only see a bit of the underlying design if you look closely.  I should have taken pics as I went along - but didn't.  I still have to add some matte varnish spray - but otherwise done.  This was harder work than I thought it would be and I hope to display it in a new venue - not finalized yet.  I painted this on a 6x12" artboard.  I find this to be my new love to paint on - I love the firm substrate and that unlike canvas the paint doesn't get totally sucked up!  I used acrylic paints, PanPastels, charcoal, pen and the kitchen sink (LOL).  Here's the inspiration photo below which was originally found on Facebook here. Will be linking to Paint Party Friday tomorrow (here).  It's a wonderful place to browse all kinds of fabulous artwork - hosted by Eva and Kristin faithfully every week.

Thanks for visiting - have a blessed day.  Go forth and create!!!

  9. I too love this painting. I tell my beading students that when you are stuck go out and look at nature. The inspiration is there.
