An army of trees!

The tree that God made
I finally finished all the tree gifts that I planned for my grandson's Montessori class teachers and all the helpers in those classes (in a public school no less!) and one will be for my neighbor.  So - essentially I took the very lovely and simple trees made by Alisa Burke (her blog can be found here) and made it into a complex and time consuming craft.  Just had to make my mark on them (shiny paint, texture, glitter and tiny little ornaments that took forever to glue).  Each tree is a little different of course, which just adds more time to the project.  I doubled the drink cups this time to make it more sturdy and coated them with a mixture of heavy duty gel medium and gesso.  Then I painted them with acrylic silks and decorated.  I also added German glass glitter all over the trees and on the star on top.  I love that stuff - it's a bit chunky and it doesn't come off on your hands, clothing or surroundings!  If I were to sell these - well they'd have to be at least $50 each and I don't think anyone will buy them at that price! LOL  I am pleased at how they came out though and just hope all the dimensional paint on the bottom rims dries by tomorrow.  I thought I would share our real tree all decorated with a Christmas kitty.  Ok - long post, but it took a long time to make these trees.  Thanks for stopping by.

    1. That is an almost 13 yo kitty - so not too much kitten behavior. The teachers did love the trees - now have to bring one to my neighbor! Merry Christmas to you and your family - hugs back!
