WIP

Dali's Guitar
So - a week or so ago I posted a couple of a canvas I had painted over because it wasn't working.  I was layering the background and not forcing anything - just waiting for something to show on the canvas or to have an idea strike. I was in my bedroom closet and spotted my youngest brother's guitar (which he hasn't used in years).  My husband decided he wanted to learn to play - only he decided to teach himself.  Needless to say that idea went by the wayside.  So the guitar agreed to model for me. At some point I realized that I too little canvas for the guitar.  So I decided to melt it - thus Dali's guitar.  So much fun - I used paint and old hymnal pages and magazine pages and lots of paint, some stamps and my Stabilo pencil.  I meant to take more pictures while in progress but whenever I thought of it my favorite finger brushes were full of paint!  I'm still fussing with it and need to finish the sides.  My daughter thinks it's finished - we'll see.  I am starting to like it - there were some stages that were so ugly I thought maybe I should burn it!  But I worked through and here I am.  I am linking (a little late) to Paint Party Friday here.  Thank you Eva and Kristin for all you work - go check this fabulous site.  Special this week are auction pieces the proceeds of which will go to Sandy Hook Elementary.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I love your comments - so please leave one if you have time.  Have a blessed and art-filled weekend.
