One more strawberry lemonade

I got this gorgeous hibiscus plant over the weekend and thought if that's not a strawberry lemonade flower I don't know what is.  I find it really hard to draw these intricate, ruffley flowers.  However, I keep trying.  This is actually a different flower on the plant that I sketched - hence the different angle of the stamen.  Colored with Copic markers - not a great job but I keep trying.  I think I try too hard to sketch the detailed folds of the flower.  I'll keep working on loosening up - the important words being "keep working".  Thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to comment - I need all the help I can get!!!

  1. Great choice for Strawberry Lemonade. I've been using Summer of Color to practice drawing flowers, so I know how difficult those ruffly petals can be!

    1. Thanks - I so struggle with those ruffles. The encouragement is like a pat on my "right brain".
