Another lady inspired by Matisse! (beter photos!)

better color
I loved the lady from last week - so I decided to paint her on a canvas. The canvas is 6x12" so I gave her a body! I updated my photos because the others were so off in color.  These are not perfect - but much better

I am much more relaxed now painting full figures - I have a lot to learn, but I have embraced Matisse's exaggerations.  I am not a realistic painter but I know I have to know how it all connects to even exaggerate.  I like her though - and will  put her in my Etsy shop tomorrow.  Just have to add  some archival finish. I am calling the painting "the work of his hands" from Psalm 19, since everything in the universe is the work of God's hands.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday (.here).  Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting this awesome venue for artists around the world.  Have a blessed and art filled day.

  3. I have been having problems taking photos of my art, and achieving the colours that I see without the camera, so I know how your feeling. The sky is very pleasing with texture and different colours, so even though you seem disappointed, it still is effective. Learning is what this challenge is all about, so you are on track!

  10. You did a great job on her!!!!! I love those narrow canvas...they can squeeze into a space that needs brightened but too small for a full sized painting.
