Back to Studying Under the Masters

A Cezanne inspired WIP - from a series he painted of a boy in a red vest.  Definitely early on and I see things I need to correct and add.  Pictures can really help you see where there is work to be done.  The one thing I wanted to take from this course (aside from a new appreciation for the Masters) was to paint more loosely.  I tend to hold my brush tightly (so I won't do anything "wrong" LOL)  But I know that a looser brush creates more movement and life in a painting.

I am as always a WIP myself - but much more fearless about trying something new and different. You can link to Jeanne Oliver's blog here and check this course and her other courses.  The course content will be available for 2 years so it's not too late to join in.  I highly recommend this online class - I think it's the best one I have ever taken!!! Thanks so much for stopping by - have a blessed and art filled day.

    1. I would answer with a whole bunch of criticisms of my painting - but I'm turning in my critic's badge - thank you. I continue to learn here.

    1. Thanks so much - there is so much to learn - that's why I'm so behind. Decided not to rush through. Let's face it - the masters didn't rush through their own paintings!!!

    1. It's great - just going at a limping snail's pace - I think that's a good thing for me. I'm always rushing through everything - instant gratification!
