Changed my mind (and my lizard)

I just wasn't happy with my monitor lizard - so do over!  Gesso is an artist's best friend - (at least one of them - I have a quart and a half in my studio!)  So - I gessoed over the lizard and started adding more torn dictionary pages and stenciling - until this little lady made me happy.  Some acrylic paint stenciled; some Silks; a little Inka Gold and a swarovski crystal later I liked her much better.  Might have a little more work to do on her - and she did get to keep a flower! By the way - my first blog post was September 23rd 2011!  I am a year old! Thanks for visiting - love all your comments!

  1. Happy birthday! I think you should do a lizard series, love this one, too. And yes, I need my gesso more than lipstick these days! Valerie

    1. Hmm - gesso as lipstick - would that cover up things I don't want on my face? Interesting idea - thanks Valerie. You are always an encouragement to me.

    1. The lizard that was found in a Beaufort SC backyard was not wearing a necklace I think - a little artistic license! Thanks for stopping by Molly.

  4. Congratulation to your Blog birthday. I couldn't find your blog in the past (there is no blog address in your google profile) but today I researched a little bit and found you. I'm so happy. Thank you so much for all your comments on my Blog. It's so a good feeling that other artists love my work.

    1. Dynamic views uses Google+ - I do think my link is out there. If it wasn't so much work for me - I would opt out of dynamic view - too hard to find and change things!! Thanks for your comment. I really don't scrapbook anymore - but your work is art! Not at all what I thought of as scrapbooking "back in the day" - LOL
