L'oiseau avec le chapeau et le fleur

Wow - I'm amazed I remembered any French at all. I only took 6 years of it!!  I figured the best therapy for my addled brain and exhausted spirit was to make a happy, silly bird.  His beret is a bit funky but I didn't look at any pictures.  If not a beret - well then a yarmulke!  I worked all day on this one (with a few breaks) because I had prepared the canvas before I left for NY.  I have sold one of my birds in a local gallery and tomorrow is the Art Walk in town - so I wanted to get at least one more in there.  I'm linking to Paint Party Friday - go and check the fabulous artists participating.  Thanks for visiting with me.

  15. I love your quirky bird -together with his little hat and huge beak - which must be very handy for picking flowers without having to bend! I like the vivid colour and texture - and would love to see on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
